Sustainability Gets Measured

SRPC staff recently attended a Boston conference for HUD Grantees to create national Sustainability Index

  • Strafford Region is one of the sustainable communities grantees, that is we receive funds to help develop sustainable practices.
  • Experts related to this endeavor convened in Boston for a roundtable event organized by the University of Pennsylvania.
  • As our region has a large “rural” component, our voice was important in thinking through practices that apply to the population at large.
  • SRPC has already worked hard on developing measures that can indicate what is happening in areas such as transportation, land use and economic development.
