Nottingham Natural Resources Master Plan Chapter 2025

Project Description:

The Town of Nottingham will update its Natural Resources Inventory maps and Natural Resources Master Plan chapter. This work will be conducted in conjunction with the Town’s update to its Housing Master Plan chapter, for which a HOP grant was received in 2024. The goal is to identify suitable areas for future conservation and development, aiming to strike a balance between the two.

Overall, the project aims to foster an engaged planning process that identifies and characterizes critical natural resources, builds consensus among community members regarding management approaches, and develops an ambitious yet achievable and measurable implementation plan.

The parallel projects (NRI maps, NR Master Plan chapter, and Housing MP chapter) will leverage data collection, fieldwork, public outreach, and collaboration between working groups (Planning Board Master Plan subcommittee and Conservation Commission) to maximize returns on the PREPA Grant.
