Regional Planner
Are you passionate about creating vibrant communities? Strafford Regional Planning Commission seeks a full-time regional planner/senior planner to join our dedicated team working in a hybrid environment. Home to the Tri-Cities of Dover, Rochester, and Somersworth, as well as many suburban and rural communities, the region offers outdoor dining in vibrant downtowns, kayaking on beautiful lakes, and many hiking opportunities. We are centrally located to mountains, skiing, and beaches. Hop on the Downeaster with stops in Dover and Durham and be in Boston or Portland, Maine in about an hour.
This position will take a lead role in the following initiatives:
- Work directly with one SRPC community as their contract planner.
- Conduct research and develop regional plans, local master plans, studies, and special projects.
- Provide technical assistance to local land use boards and municipal planning staff.
- Assist with local and regional environmental planning projects.
- Conduct outreach efforts to support planning projects
Salary ($52,000-$67,000) is commensurate with qualifications and experience. For the right candidate, the position may be upgraded to a senior planner level. We offer a flexible work environment and excellent benefit package.

The ideal candidate will have entry- to mid-level level experience in land use and environmental planning and enjoy working in a creative, innovative, and collaborative environment. They will also have strong communications skills, both oral and written, and a high degree of personal accountability.
